Donald Trump faced backlash on social media after mistakenly asserting the authenticity of a doctored photo of Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s knuckle tattoos, which read "MS-13." During an interview with ABC News’ Terry Moran in the Oval Office, Trump referenced the controversial image, claiming, "You’ll pick out one man, but even the man that you picked out, he said he wasn’t a member of a gang, and then they looked and on his knuckles he had MS-13." Users on X (formerly Twitter) shared the interview clip alongside the edited photo, with one commenting, "I don’t know which is worse, Trump losing his s— at being fact-checked, or him actually not knowing that the photo is clearly a very bad Photoshop." Notably, Trump had previously showcased the same edited image of Garcia’s hand in the White House, following protests from Democrats regarding Garcia’s deportation to El Salvador, which reportedly occurred due to an administrative error.
