Tina Knowles chatted with “Extra’s” Mona Kosar Abdi about her memoir “Matriarch” at a special “An Evening with Tina Knowles, Family and Friends” in-conversation event with Gayle King at Brooklyn Paramount. In the book, Tina talks about feeling dismissed over her clothing designs in the Density’s Child days, and she shared how meaningful it still is to her that Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland always stuck by her. She spoke about her family’s longevity in the industry and how it’s a reflection of the true passion they have for what they do. Plus, she dished on seeing granddaughter Blue Ivy blossom in confidence while performing on Beyonce’s Renaissance and Cowboy Carter tours – though Tina actually hopes she doesn’t go into entertainment. She also beamed over Rumi joining Bey and Blue on stage this tour and said they need to really “let her loose” one night!
