Alexander McQueen was in peak form for Givenchy’s Spring 2001 Ready-to-Wear collection, presenting a runway filled with daring contrasts and refined silhouettes. Drawing inspiration from Teddy boys, rockabilly culture, and the glam essence of David Bowie, the show featured voluminous skirts layered with ruffles and crinolines, cinched by bold corset-belts and styled with sharply tailored jackets and crisp short-sleeved shirts.
The lineup also included mannish pinstriped overcoats, sheer shirts with gathered panel fronts, and striking lingerie-inspired pieces. Visually arresting looks like apple-green and red checkered coats, pegged houndstooth trousers, and spectator pumps stood out, while more classic Givenchy fans were likely drawn to chocolate suede bombers, fitted pencil skirts, and tortoiseshell-print dresses.
