White House Says “No Final Decisions” Have Been Made on Film Tariffs | THR News

After President Donald Trump said that a tariff on foreign-made movies is in the works, the White House has released a clarifying statement saying, quote, "no final decisions" have been made. Trump posted about the tariff on Truth Social, writing in part, "The Movie Industry in America is DYING a very fast death. Other Countries are offering all sorts of incentives to draw our filmmakers and studios away from the United States." He went on to propose a 100% tariff on any films, quote, "that are produced in foreign lands" and ordered the Commerce Department and U.S. Trade Representative to begin exploring options.
